EN EL DÍA DEL ÁRBOL: LOS ALUMNOS DE TRABAJOS FORESTALES

Como todos los años por estas fechas invernales del mes de febrero, se conmemora “El día del Árbol”, aquí en Castellnovo. En un principio el jueves 4, fueron acompañados por los niños del colegio Navarro Reverter, que contribuyeron a la plantación. Después, a lo largo de la semana continuaron con la labor hasta completar los plantones previstos. Todo con el buen propósito de ayudar a la buena conservación del suelo y evitar la agresiva erosión.

Toda esta plantación se llevó a cabo en el paraje de la Mina (zona recreativa, situada en la carretera que va a Almedijar, con pinada en su parte superior y álamos en la inferior en dónde está la fuente.  Y la variedad de árboles que se insertó a lo largo del terreno, ya que la zona necesita ser repoblada, fue el Pinus halepensis: árbol mediterráneo resistente a la sequía y adaptado al terreno calizo de la zona, que puede llegar a alcanzar los 25 metros.
